Recognising that your time is valuable, we aim to keep your appointment to within 15 minutes of schedule.
Priority will always be given to emergency presentations and hospital emergencies that may require Dr Thevathasan to attend in person. In such a situation, we will try and contact you if you have not yet arrived to let you know if we can reschedule you to a later time or the soonest appointment that is mutually convenient.
If you have already arrived at our practice, we will keep you up-to-date on the likely time delay and discuss alternative arrangements if required.
If you are unable to make your appointment, or are expecting to be late, your telephone call to us will allow us to minimise inconvenience to you and other clients (see cancellation policy below).
Appointments are prioritised as follows:
- On time appointments
- Late appointments
- Non-emergencies with no appointment
New patients to the practice are asked to arrive 5 minutes early for their appointment to complete any necessary paperwork prior to their consultation.
However at the time the appointment is made we do request that you send in your referral letter to us.
The referral letter is a Medicare requirement and it is stipulated by them that it is the patient’s responsibility to have one at the time of the consultation.
On receiving this we will send you out some information on our practice which includes our location, fee structure and a registration form which ideally should be completed at home and brought to your appointment.
Payment at the time of consultation is required and we accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, EFTPOS, cash and cheque.
What to bring
- a current referral letter
- all results and ultrasounds
- your completed registration form
Confirming your Appointment
An appointment reminder will be sent to your mobile phone via SMS prior to your scheduled appointment. You will need to reply with “Y” to confirm. If you reply “N”, please also call during business hours so we can make another appointment.
If you do not have a mobile phone, we will call you the day before to remind you.
In order to be respectful of our practitioners and the medical needs of other patients we ask that you call us promptly if you are unable to attend your appointment.
To cancel your appointment please call our reception on 9500 9099.
If you do not reach the receptionist you may leave a detailed message on the voicemail. You may not cancel via email.
